Star Trails

During the lockdown, I decided i would try my hand at something different, a challenge to expand some skills new to me. I thought i would try to capture the movement of the stars in our garden at home in Wiltshire. I soon found out that being surrounded by nearby Amesbury, and the Army town of Tidworth, things were going to be tricky. So much light pollution! I have since found a web site showing areas of the UK where light pollution is less of an issue, the nearest being designated a “dark……” is not so far away. So, the next time the moon is tucked away, i will head out on a starry night and see what comes.

These two images were shot on my Fuji XT-2. An exposure of around an hour, Although polluted by nearby Tidworth, i was still pretty pleased with the results.
